Admissions Policy

RAS uses the Learning Outcome and Admissions Policies below to determine the eligibility of prospective students for admissions to our school. These policies inform our decisions and reveal our commitment to admitting students who can best benefit from, and contribute to, a RAS education.

Learning Outcomes

Our rigorous and rich academic and co-curricular programs encourage student growth through a learning outcome approach, acknowledging multiple types of intelligence and paths to learning. All of our RAS students will demonstrate their personal learning by:

• Reflecting on their own learning, actions, and personal development.
• Being able to balance different aspects of their personal and academic lives.
• Respecting othersโ€™ perspectives, values, and cultures.
• Being honest, fair, and respectful toward themselves, others, and the world.
• Seeking to understand and build positive relationships with others and the community.
• interacting critically and reflectively with the world around them and creatively expanding their understandings
• being risk-takers when facing new challenges.
• transferring and applying knowledge across a broad range of disciplines.

Students at RAS are challenged to meet their potential in preparation for further study in Universities around the world, targeting American and North American institutions of learning.

Policy

Final admission decisions fall to the school Director. The Director must ensure that the student admitted to Raffles American School are those who are able to benefit from, and contribute to, a high quality elementary to secondary university-preparatory curriculum. • Admit students with mild learning needs who meet all other admissions criteria, and for whom there are sufficient spaces and resources.
