OUR SPECIAL AREA TEACHERS
Jeremy Sinsimer is a teacher from the United States and has been working in education for 8 years. Before arriving at Raffles American School as head of the ESL department, he was the Grade 4 level head at a prominent international school in Thailand for 3 years. He is passionate about teaching English to students who may have had difficulty acquiring a new language in the past. Mr. Jeremy also enjoys learning about new cultures, languages, and countries, and he can speak four languages in addition to his native English. Because he has spent so much time struggling to learn these other languages, he understands the difficulties non-native speakers can face when trying to understand English. Mr. Jeremy wants to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for the ESL students. He hopes to build their confidence, teach them the value of mistakes, and inspire them to explore everything that the English speaking world has to offer.
Mr. Mitchell began teaching when he was in high school. He taught sailing and merit badge classes with the Boy Scouts of America. He continued this while at University where he earned two degrees: a BA in International Studies from the University of Oklahoma, USA, and a MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas, USA. He has minors in German and History. He is fluent in German as he was an exchange student. He worked for a number of years for Dallas ISD in Texas teaching 6th Grade. He is engaged and is a fan of the Werder Bremen football club.
Cecile van Enter
Miss Cecile van Enter is a passionate, caring, and enthusiastic educator, with a focus on the developmental milestones and individual growth of each child through self- exploration and play. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Honor’s degrees in Psychology and Education, completing with distinction. Following her undergraduate studies, she has continued her professional development through her enrollment in a Master’s degree in Play Therapy, currently being completed through an internationally recognized institution based in the United Kingdom (UK). With 8 years of experience in working with children in various disciplines including education, recreation and counseling, she is very passionate about the well-being and development of each child’s unique potential. She is by nature very nurturing and caring towards all her students, and strives to encourage individuality and self-exploration and development. As children learn best through play, exploration and social interaction, these are some of the key focus-points in her teaching practice.
Jonathan Dela Cruz
Information & Communication Technology
Jonathan Dela Cruz has been working at international schools as an IT administrator and teacher for over ten years. He has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and is a certified IT Administrator. His classes focus on programing languages and photo editing.
Ms. Ashley comes from the Wei Hai, Shan Dong province of China. She earned her bachelor degree in TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language). She has been teaching students from America, Thailand, and Korea for four years. She believes learning different languages not only trains students’ ears to recognize sounds and tones, but also helps students appreciate and have more respect for different languages and cultures. It opens their minds to the world beyond their immediate environment. As a Chinese language teacher, she feels her main mission is to introduce Chinese culture and language in a positive way to students, help them able to speak fluent Chinese and contribute their foreign language skills to the society.
Phichsinee graduated from Payap University with a Bachelor of Arts in Thai language. After finishing, she worked as a Journalist and Editorial Staff at publishing companies and magazines for 10 years. This is the reason she always makes sure that she uses Thai language correctly. She shares her language with others and teaches how to use Thai properly. She graduated in 2015 with Diploma in Teaching Profession from Dhurakij Pundit University as well as holding Teaching License from Teacher’s Council of Thailand. Phichsinee have been a Thai Teacher for 4 years. She has taught in Kindergarten and elementary schools, and she has taught both native and Non-native speakers at international schools. She has participated in the training course of Techniques to succeed in teaching Thai to foreigners from School of Language and Culture Technology Promotion Association (Thailand – Japan). It made her excited and eager to know more. She learned about many problems of different people from different countries, and how to motivate the students to understand Thai.
Karrell graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors of Music from Chicago, Illinois, USA. She has been teaching music and theatre arts since then in multiple international schools in Bangkok, and has also been a piano and voice teacher in many prominent music studios in Thailand. Since graduating from university, Karrell has been a part of choral and opera companies such as Bangkok Music Society and Opera Siam. She has performed comprimario roles and has been selected as a mezzo-soprano soloist in productions like The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Bhuridatta by Somtow Sucharitkul, and she has also competed in classical vocal competitions in Southeast Asia. In 2014, Karrell started her Masters in Music from Mahidol University where she was trained in Kodaly, Orff and Dalcroze methodologies in teaching early years music education. Karrell is passionate in teaching music in innovative ways to young children. Instilling a love for music and the arts brightens a child’s outlook on life and gives another dimension to their learning.
Suzy is from Bracciano, Italy. She moved to the USA for University. She graduated with a BA from Northeastern Illinois University, in Studio Art and Philosophy. With a personal passion for non-stop learning in life she brings with her an exuberant energy that sparks creativity. Previously she took on many roles while leading a multidisciplinary assisted living program for people with developmental disabilities. Suzy consistently encouraged each individual to fill their own shoes with confidence, through harnessing their interests and expressing themselves even when situations made it difficult. Giving each person the attention they needed, she created individual methods through music, sports, and art groups to veer their focus into positive personal growth. Being a compassionate and attentive person, Suzy has the drive to assist children in initiating and embracing their journey of self-discovery through artistic creativity. Simply put, she hopes to share each child’s different method of thinking, embrace their natural wonder, harness their creativity, and learn from their imagination.

Miss Heather is an artist originally from Nottingham in England, a city famous for its castle and forest where the legend Robin Hood and his merry men had many adventures. Miss Heather moved to the north of England where she studied illustration and picked up part of her unique accent. She then went on to train and work with young people with learning disabilities, specializing in children with autism. Through this work she helped to enrich the young people’s lives with art, music and fun activities. Miss Heather came to Thailand in 2012, where she worked at an international school for 5 years, teaching Art, Creative Writing and English. She left Thailand with her 2 rescued cats in 2017 to travel to Australia and New Zealand, where she stayed for 6 months and wrote and illustrated 2 children’s books. She has spent the last 7 months in England with her cats, doing freelance work and working with teenagers, showing them how to skateboard and ice skate. Whilst working as a freelance illustrator, she has created work for a record company in Berlin, illustrated for the laurent poet of Nottingham (a poet who writes poems for the royal family), designed colouring pages for books, illustrated for magazines and comic books, wrote commissioned stories, made band posters and painted. Miss Heather loves using her imagination to draw and paint. She has exhibited her work in Nottingham, Manchester, London, and Bangkok. Aside from art she loves animals, traveling, walking, dancing, music, reading, football, and hula hooping. Miss Heather is very excited to join the raffles team.
Kristina Bajamundi Maso
Ms.Tin is a dedicated educator with 8 years of experience as a Physical Education Teacher. She is from the Central Luzon Region, Bulacan. She studied in Bulacan State University and graduated in 2008 with the Bachelor Degree in Physical Education. She maintains a passion for instilling in children the importance of lifelong learning, health, dance and fitness. She is capable of educating the whole
child and is confident in her abilities to utilize a variety of teaching techniques that meets all their individual needs. One’s adaptability and willingness to work with others in order to ensure the success of students is crucial. She is very happy to bring her diverse selection of interdisciplinary lessons and ideas to the RAS Family.
Ryan Holt is a certified teacher from Canada and has been working as a Physical Education teacher for eight years. A passionate teacher and gifted athlete, Ryan strives to impart his love for health, sports, and physical activity onto his students and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Ryan is a certified ice hockey coach and spent some time volunteering teaching Thai children the sport of ice hockey. He was also the head coach of Thailand’s national ice hockey men’s team. A lover of the outdoors, Ryan is an avid runner who regularly competes in marathons, ultra-marathons, and trail runs. He also participates in the annual Thailand Masters Track and Field event where he had won a gold medal in shot-put and a bronze medal is discus in last year’s event.
