GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES

General Learning Outcomes

We expect that all students will actively demonstrate the RAS General Learning Outcomes. The fundamental idea behind American education is the concept of educating the whole child for the successful realization of dreams and goals. We have the opportunity and challenge to embed General Learning Outcomes such as communication skills, organizational & research skills, and problem-solving & thinking skills into our curriculum at every level. We will give students the chance to grow in compassion, responsibility, integrity, and respect.

At Raffles, we offer a predominantly American curriculum, which is tailored to meet the quality standards of the US Common Core. Our curriculum is enhanced to foster international-mindedness and a global perspective. We use Common Core standards for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science, and the American Education Reaches Out (AERO) standards for Social Studies. Additionally, our Physical Education program follows Shape America guidelines, and our Arts programs adhere to the US Drama National Arts Standards and the Delaware State Standards for Art. For computer science, we use the code.org curriculum, and all our Advanced Placement (AP) courses are authorized by the CollegeBoard.

ELL Curriculum and Assessment are WIDA (World Class Instructional Design and Assessment) based. Students work on all domains including reading, writing, listening, and speaking across all content areas.
