Beyond the Classroom: RAS K3 Explorers Ignite Curiosity on Science Field Trip

At Raffles American School, we believe that some of the most profound lessons are learned beyond the four walls of a classroom. This belief came to life during our recent K3 Science Field Trip to WOW Park, Gateway Ekkamai, where our young explorers turned the city into their laboratory.

Why Field Trips Matter: Experiential Learning in Action

Field trips are a cornerstone of our early childhood curriculum, providing students with experiential learning opportunities that stimulate all five senses. Our group of 58 young learners spent the day inquiring, experimenting, and discovering how the world works in an environment specifically designed for curious minds.

Discovering the Wonders of WOW Park, Gateway Ekkamai

As one of Bangkok’s premier educational destinations, WOW Park offers a unique blend of fun and physics. During this excursion, our K3 students engaged with:

Guided Discovery with Expert “Explainers”

To maximize the educational value of this field trip, our students were guided by WOW Park’s expert “Explainers.” Working alongside our dedicated RAS staff, these mentors helped facilitate “scaffolded learning”—taking each “Wow” moment and turning it into a tangible lesson about the natural world.

Safety and School Spirit on the Move

A successful field trip is built on a foundation of safety. As always, the well-being of our students remained our top priority. We are incredibly proud of how our K3 explorers represented RAS; their signature bright orange uniforms were a beacon of energy and teamwork throughout the park.

Planning for Future Scientific Success

By integrating regular field trips like this visit to WOW Park into our program, we ensure that RAS students don’t just memorize facts—they experience them. This hands-on approach builds the critical thinking skills necessary for their future academic journeys.
