GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES

It is our expectation that all students will actively demonstrate the RAS General Learning Outcomes. The fundamental idea behind American education is the concept of educating the whole child for the successful realization of dreams and goals. We have the opportunity and challenge to embed General Learning Outcomes such as communication skills, organizational & research skills, and problem solving & thinking skills into our curriculum at every level. We will give students the chance to grow in compassion, responsibility, integrity, and respect.

PROBLEM SOLVING & THINKING SKILLS

 • Objectively and reflectively question themselves, others, and ideas.
 • Apply knowledge to real-life situations.

ORGANIZATION & RESEARCH SKILLS

 • Efficiently allocate time and energy towards prioritized tasks.
 • Logically organize information using appropriate tools and strategies.

CHARACTER & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

 • Show tolerance, empathy, respect, and understanding for other people and cultures within the school and community.
 • Work effectively in group situations.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

 • Communicate effectively as listeners, speakers, readers, and writers to a range of audiences for a range of purposes through auditory, visual, physical, or digital means.

GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES

At RAS, at every grade level and in every subject area, students will be given the opportunity to practice and receive feedback on their demonstration of our General Learning Outcomes. These GLOs ensure students develop not only academically but also physically, psychologically, and emotionally.
