Loy Kratong

Category : Activities

Raffles American School strives to mold students to achieve their academic and life goals.

Loy Krathong is a festival usually held in the second half of November. Celebrated on the full moon day of the twelfth lunar month, this festival marks the end of the rainy season. To pay tribute to the water spirits, people deposit small rafts with candles, flowers and incense sticks in Thailand’s rivers. Thousands of lanterns are also launched into the sky. Loy Krathong literally means “floating raft.”
